"...This is what solidarity looks like: tens of thousands of people showing up against the genocide of — and for the full humanity of — the Palestinian people. They are families, artists, doctors, teachers, and children — who deserve to grow up with the freedom to determine the course of their own lives.
Every dollar from tickets, merch and donations on the Free Palestine Tour goes to twelve organizations working for Palestinian life, dignity and freedom..."
Six weeks ago, two words got Macklemore canceled from the biggest stadium tour in America:
"Free Palestine"
Opening for Ed Sheeran in front of tens of thousands of people at MetLife Stadium, Macklemore told Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank that they have not been forgotten.
Next, billionaire and hardcore Israel supporter Robert Kraft organized stadium owners to bar Macklemore from performing. Macklemore was dropped from the tour — which backfired spectacularly.
He answered with a letter read by millions, in which he refused to let the focus wander from Israel's genocide in Gaza. Then he went bigger. He took the dates he'd lost and built the Free Palestine Tour: three arena shows across Europe, in Dublin, Paris, London, that sold out almost instantly.
This is what solidarity looks like: tens of thousands of people showing up against the genocide of — and for the full humanity of — the Palestinian people. They are families, artists, doctors, teachers, and children — who deserve to grow up with the freedom to determine the course of their own lives.
Every dollar from tickets, merch and donations on the Free Palestine Tour goes to twelve organizations working for Palestinian life, dignity and freedom.
We are honored that Jewish Voice for Peace is one of those twelve organizations.
Together with Macklemore’s team, many of these organizations are working to make this moment even bigger. We’re each inviting our communities — that’s you — to be a part.
Stand with us in four ways:
1 Tell Congress: “Fund people, not bombs.” Call Congress or email Congress to tell them they must vote to block bombs to Israel and oppose any funding for Trump’s illegal war on Iran.
2 Keep speaking up — you don't need a massive platform to make an impact. Read or subscribe to JVP's Wire, and you’ll be one of 100,000 reading critical news and analysis from Palestine, the United States, and the Palestine solidarity movement — and ways to take action.
3 Support our work, and give what you can to JVP. Every gift enables our work for Palestinian freedom.
4 Support aid to Palestinians on the ground and our partners in the U.S.-based solidarity movement. Please consider matching any gift to JVP with gifts to one or all of the other organizations: Anera, Glia, Gaza Soup Kitchen, Taawon, HEAL Palestine, Palestinian Youth Movement, Middle East Children’s Alliance, Medical Aid for Palestinians, Institute for Middle East Understanding, Palestine Children’s Relief Fund and UNRWA USA.
They tried to cancel Macklemore. Instead, he’s filling arenas. And using that platform to support JVP and other organizations. Will you chip in to keep our work going?
Onward in solidarity,
Jason Farbman
Digital Director
P.S. When you support JVP, every gift enables our work for Palestinian freedom
